B&H Tennis Players Beat South Africa in First Round of Group 2 of Euro-African Zone Fed Cup

tenis_bih_zeneThe B&H women’s tennis team beat South Africa with 2:1 in the first round of group 2 of the Euro-African zone of the Fed Cup.

In the first match Anita Husarić lost to Madrie Le Roux with a score of 6:2 and 6:4, Jasmina Tinjić beat Chanel Simmonds with 6:4 and 6:4 in the second single’s match.

In the doubles match that brought the winning points, Natalie Grandin/Chanel Simmonds from South Africa lost to Dea Herdželaš/Jasmina Tinjić from B&H, with a result of 3:6, 7:6 (3) and 6:4.

B&H is in group B of the Fed Cup, together with South Africa, Egypt and Georgia.

The tournament is scheduled from 16 to 19 April in Siauliai, Lithuania.

After the group state of the competition there will be play-off and play-out matches. Winners of the group will play finals matches for entry into the first group, while the last teams from the groups will play matches for survival.
