The United States (U.S.) President Joseph Biden planned toannounce to Congress last evening that he would order the U.S.military to establish a port in Gaza for the transportation of humanitarian aid by sea to the besieged Palestinian territory.
“Tonight, the president will say in his State of the Union address that he will order the U.S. military to conduct an emergency mission to establish a port in Gaza,” an unnamed senior U.S.official told reporters yesterday.
Biden will deliver a traditional presidential speech in the middle of the campaign for the presidential election scheduled for the end of the year, in which he is expected to be the Democratic nominee, N1 reports.
