12842495_1127927320591556_432048578_oIn order to make significant savings to the long run for the accommodation of diplomatic-consular offices of BiH, the Council of Ministers of BiH tasked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to conduct an analysis so that BiH would purchase certain facilities in Belgrade and Zagreb where the BiH embassies in Serbia and Croatia would be accommodated. Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH Adnan Hadžikapetnović confirmed that 3.3 million BAM are allocated for this purpose.

By the Decision of the Council of Ministers of BiH, a Commission for the procurement of facilities for accommodation of diplomatic-consular offices of BiH in Zagreb and Belgrade was formed.

“The Commission began with work immediately. However, in late 2015 we have requested from the Council of Minister to prolong the reaching of any decision due to short timeframe, because it was impossible to analyze everything and decide which facilities will be purchased. After we were granted postponement, in the past period we have been implementing necessary activities together with our diplomatic-consular offices in Zagreb and Belgrade, in order to complete the task we were given,” said Hadžikapetanović.

So far, the bids have been collected and 20 facilities in Zagreb have been visited. The analysis and selection of offered facilities was conducted, in terms of what suits BiH given the location, rooms layout and the like.

“When it comes to Belgrade, we still have not visited it but we did receive around 30 bids among which we will select the most favorable location for the accommodation of our embassy. The plan is to visit Belgrade in early April and make the selection,” Hadžikapetanović said.

The Council of Ministers approved 1.700.000 BAM for the procurement of the facility I Zagreb and 1.600.000 BAM for the facility in Belgrade. The surface area that meets the needs of BiH consular offices amounts to 500 square meters.

In the previous period, BiH allocated around 5.500 EUR for the accommodation of the embassy in Belgrade every month, amounting to 65.000 EUR on the annual level, while the month lease for Zagreb amounts to 4.500 EUR or 55.000 EUR per year.
