The Minister of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Zukan Helez, today, immediately after the approval of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, signed an order to send helicopters of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the area of the fire on Fortica Hill near Mostar.

Based on the decision of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, made at the 144th telephone session held today, the deployment of helicopters of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina (OSBiH) in the area of Mostar was approved to provide assistance in extinguishing the fire.

The deployment of the OSBiH is being implemented in accordance with the legally prescribed procedure, according to which in cases of natural disasters and catastrophes, a request for assistance is sent through local civil protection centers, and then to the Ministry of Security of BiH, which is responsible for contact with the Ministry of Defense of BiH.

“The Armed Forces of BiH, as before, remain ready to provide support to civilian structures in the fight against natural disasters in order to protect people, property and the environment,” the MoD of BiH announced.
