Bosnia and Herzegovina national team member Amel Tuka won second place tonight in the 800 meters race at the 35th international meeting “Sports Solidarity” in the Italian city of Lignano Sabbidoro.
In a fairly even race, Tuka ran this section in 1:46.57, while the winner Kelvin Kimtai Lotu from Kenya ran 1:46.42. Third-placed Italian Giovanni Lazzaro achieved a time of 1:46.71.
Tuka ran his fastest this season on June 21 at the meeting in Madrid, where he ran 1:45.91, but he did not participate in the European Championships in Rome and will not participate in the Olympic Games in Paris, which begin in a few days.
The only BiH athlete at the Paris Olympics will be the shot putter Mesud Pezer, Fena writes.
