A plane belonging to the Spanish national airline Iberia, which brought tourists from the Kingdom of Spain to our country, landed at Sarajevo International Airport on Saturday. It is a charter flight that brought tourists from Spain, who will have the opportunity to get to know the rich tourist offer of the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Upon landing in Sarajevo, the Spanish tourists were given gifts as a sign of welcome from the Tourist Board of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Sarajevo International Airport, in cooperation with the local brand Lasta.

It is important to emphasize that these activities were realized in coordination with the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Kingdom of Spain, which provides significant support both to this project implemented by the leading tour operator in Spain, the Sama Travel agency, and to the negotiations initiated by Sarajevo Airport with the airline Iberia, and related for the establishment of a regular line on the Madrid-Sarajevo route in the coming period, it was announced from Sarajevo International Airport.

The arrival of Spanish tourists in Bosnia and Herzegovina represents a significant step towards strengthening the tourist offer and international cooperation. Cooperation between Sarajevo International Airport and the BiH Tourist Board with Spanish partners is of great importance for the promotion of BiH as an attractive tourist destination.

In addition, Sarajevo Airport, in coordination with the Embassy of BiH in the Kingdom of Spain, initiated negotiations with the airline Iberia with the aim of establishing a regular line on the Madrid-Sarajevo route, and intensive negotiations are being conducted regarding the establishment of the Barcelona-Sarajevo route, bearing in mind the great potential and demand , both citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as foreign guests and travelers.

Representatives of Sarajevo International Airport held a meeting with the representative of Sama Travel, Susana Da Graca, manager for international arrangements and operations.

“We are a Spanish travel operator, a family travel agency since 2007, which has more than 15 years of experience in organizing travel. This means that this is the first flight and we expect more next year. This year we have chosen different cities in Europe to and from Sarajevo. Now we have two flights ready, and we have groups coming from other cities in Europe,” said Susan Da Graca.

She added that for the next year, the desire is to increase these operations, perhaps on a weekly basis.

“This meeting represents an initial step towards our ultimate goal, which is the establishment of a year-round direct line between Madrid and Sarajevo, taking into account the overall potential and importance of this route, which, together with Barcelona, is on the list of strategic routes according to the Decision of the J.P. Sarajevo International Airport,” said Vedrana Vikić Music, director of the Airport Services Sector at Sarajevo International Airport, Fena writes.
