besplatna-pravna-pomocThe BiH Chief Prosecutor Goran Salihović met yesterday with officials of the US Embassy to BiH, who are engaged in issues related to the strengthening of the rule of law and cooperation with the judiciary and law enforcement agencies.

During the meeting support to the BIH Prosecutor’s Office was expressed in the process of strengthening the capacity of the Prosecutor’s Office for an effective struggle against organized crime, corruption and terrorism, and an efficient prosecution of war crimes.

The Chief Prosecutor thanked the representatives of the US Embassy for the continued support in strengthening the capacity of judicial institutions and law enforcement agencies in BiH, and expressed his conviction that successful cooperation would continue in the future.

The Chief Prosecutor also said that the issue of war crimes processing is something that BiH and the BiH judiciary should face, and that this problem will not be resolved by The Hague nor the international community. He expects the support of the Council of Ministers in the process of increasing the capacity of the BiH Prosecution in the processing of war crimes, for 12 new judges, as well as the support of BiH institutions in the process of relocating the BiH Prosecution in a separate building with adequate capacity for the accommodation of all employees. This is one of the conclusions of the structural dialogue on reform of the judiciary and obligations of BIH.

This year marks the 10 years of the existence of BiH Prosecution, which is continuing its activities in the fight against organized crime and corruption. The goal is to protect and provide security for all citizens of BiH, as well as to create an environment of the rule of law in our country for the upcoming path to European integration.
