BiH FM with Veldkamp and Haddad: Shared Commitment to BiH’s European Future

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Elmedin Konaković, met on Thursday in Sarajevo with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Caspar Veldkamp, ​​and the Minister Delegate for European Affairs of the Republic of France, Benjamin Haddad, as part of their visit to mark the 30th anniversary of the Srebrenica genocide.

Minister Konaković thanked the Dutch delegation for attending the commemoration, as well as for their continued commitment to preserving the memory of the victims of the genocide, including their support for the construction of a memorial in The Hague. He also expressed his satisfaction with the arrival of the French delegation at this important moment, describing the visit as a strong message of solidarity and support for Bosnia and Herzegovina.

During the meetings, the joint commitment to preserving the sovereignty, territorial integrity and constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina was confirmed. The European perspective of BiH, the implementation of reforms and harmonisation with the policies and standards of the European Union were discussed. Opinions were exchanged on the current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, including the dynamics within the Republika Srpska entity and the positions of the opposition structures.

Issues related to ongoing judicial processes were also discussed, including proceedings before competent institutions that have political implications.

At the end of the meetings, the readiness to continue political dialogue and cooperation between the states was confirmed, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH announced.
