The Bosnia and Herzegovina national football team will gather in Sarajevo today to prepare for the upcoming World Cup play-off semi-final against Wales. The Dragons will host Wales on March 26 in Cardiff, and if they win, they will face Italy or Northern Ireland in Zenica on March 31. Watch the Dragons’ World Cup play-off matches exclusively on BHRT.
Coach Sergej Barbarez has called up 25 players for the upcoming matches.
“We have a very important gathering ahead of us and an opportunity to achieve great success. I believe in this team and in what we are doing and I hope that on March 31st we will play the play-off final in front of our audience. The list includes players who we believe can meet the demands of such important matches. There are, compared to previous gatherings, two new players, Nidal Čelik and Jovo Lukić. They have recently drawn attention to themselves with their games and form. We know that we will face a difficult match against Wales in Cardiff, but our goal is to play bravely and proudly and try to achieve a positive result that would bring us one step closer to qualifying for the World Cup. I believe that this national team has the quality for great things,” said Barbarez after the list was announced.
The national team will have its first training session today at 5 pm at the Training Center in Butmir, and the coach’s address to the media is scheduled for 11 am at the National Football Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The team will prepare in Sarajevo until Wednesday when it travels to Cardiff.
