On Tuesday, the Bosnian government said it will answer the 655 follow-up questions submitted by the European Commission in June, within the coming three months.

The present questionnaire that Sarajevo has received is part of the country’s EU accession process, and all states wishing to become bloc partners go through this procedure.

“In February, Bosnia submitted to the Commission a document of over 20,000 pages”, seenews.com reports “answering 3,242 questions, which pertain to areas such as public procurement, agricultural and rural development, energy, economic policy, social policy, healthcare, education and others, based on which the EU executive body will decide whether the country is ready to join the bloc.”

According to the country’s leadership, the 655 questions that will be answered now are additional to the already submitted ones.

The first time Bosnia received the questionnaire was less than two years ago, in December 2016.

The questionnaire signals in practical terms the beginning of the process in which the European Commission needs to form an opinion over the future membership of a state.
