In accordance with the Readmission Agreement between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Service for Foreigners Affairs successfully carried out the forced removal of the first group of Pakistani citizens who were illegally staying in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

By implementing this procedure, a significant step forward was made in the Western Balkans, making Bosnia and Herzegovina the first country in the region to carry out the forced removal of Pakistani citizens accompanied by an escort to their home country.

The persons in question were placed under surveillance in the Immigration Center of the Service, and forced removal was carried out by commercial flight from Sarajevo International Airport, accompanied by security officers and the escort of the Service for Foreign Affairs to Islamabad, where they were handed over to the competent authorities of Pakistan.

With the implementation of the Agreement on Readmission, as an important instrument in combating irregular migration, the Service for Affairs with Foreigners has once again confirmed its readiness and determination to manage migration processes in BiH as efficiently as possible.

Forced removal was preceded by complex processes, which the Service successfully completed, and in the coming period, cooperation with the authorities of Pakistan will be intensified, with the aim of implementing the Agreement on readmission and removal of Pakistani citizens to their home country.

As they said from the Ministry of Security of BiH, “this is another great success of the ministry in the migration management process, considering that BiH is one of the few countries that managed to sign this agreement with Pakistan and started carrying out forced deportations”.

The deportation of the first group of migrants from Pakistan was attended by the representative of the Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina Sasa Kecman and the deputy director of the Service for Affairs with Foreigners of BiH Mirsad Buzar.
It was pointed out the importance of starting this process, for which numerous preparations, negotiations and harmonization of procedures between the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Pakistan have been carried out in the past period.

They emphasized that this act shows the determination of the Ministry of Security and the Service for Foreign Affairs of BiH to oppose all forms of illegal migration and the readiness of BiH to return to the country of origin persons who do not meet the conditions for international protection, Klix.ba writes.
