Energoinvest has not yet received the gas price from Gazprom which will be valid in the first quarter of 2023. ”As soon as we get the price, and we expect it by January 10th, the public will be informed, ” it was stated from this company, which is a gas importer for the entity of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH).
The company Gas-Res, which is the importer of gas for Republika Srpska (RS), the second entity in BiH, announced that citizens will pay cheaper gas in the first three months of 2023 than in the last quarter of past year.
This company stated that the fee for gas transportation has been increased, but that this will not significantly affect the price, which will be lower. They did not specify what the price of a cubic meter will be, that is, how much cheaper will be the gasprice.
Both companies stated that, according to the contract with the Russian supplier, the price of gas is determined four times a year and that it is formed according to a special formula that also includes the price of oil on international markets.
They note that they cannot influence the price determined by Gazprom.
“The price of gas is formed quarterly, based on the movement of oil prices in the previous nine months. Due to the movement of oil prices in the last period, we do not expect an increase in prices. We will talk about whether there will be a reduction in gas prices when we receive the price from Gazprom,” it was mentioned from Energoinvest.
Namely, BiH imports gas from Russia via the Turkish Stream, a gas pipeline that stretches from Russia to Turkey across the Black Sea and further towards the Western Balkans and Europe.
BiH has no gas storage, and therefore no reserves in case the flow from Russia stops.
BiH is planning two new gas pipelines, the New Eastern Interconnection, and the Southern Interconnection, but both projects are at a standstill due to political disagreements, RSE reports.
