Minister for Human Rights and Refugees of Bosnia and Herzegovina Sevlid Hurtić today received the Ambassador of the United States of America, Michael Murphy, in an inaugural visit.
Hurtić informed the Ambassador about the current activities and priorities in the work of the Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the implementation of the Regional Housing Program and thanked the USA as the second largest donor.
The interlocutors also exchanged opinions on the problems that burdened the implementation of this project in the earlier period.
They stressed the importance of supporting the work of the Missing Persons Institute of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which has a special significance in BiH society. The officials also discussed the situation of the Roma people in our country, as well as the activities carried out by this ministry to improve the living conditions and education of this population.
The topics of the meeting were violations of the rights of returnees, as well as other citizens, throughout our country. They highlighted the important role of the Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees in the protection of human rights in BiH. Ambassador Murphy emphasized that the US will stand firmly by this ministry in fulfilling the difficult tasks that have been undertaken, which relate to the protection of human rights, announced the Office of Minister Hurtić.
