The Minister of Defense and Deputy Chairman of the BiH Council of Ministers Zukan Helez spoke with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway to BiH Olav Reinertsen about the priorities of the work of the MoD and the Armed Forces of BiH in the coming period, and the modalities and types of support that the Embassy of Norway provides to Bosnia and Herzegovina in fulfilling its strategic goals.

The meeting was also attended by the non-resident military attaché of the Kingdom of Norway for BiH, based in Belgrade, Brigadier Dag-Magne Lunde.

The Embassy of Norway is the contact embassy to Bosnia and Herzegovina for cooperation with the NATO Alliance and an extremely important partner and friend to our country.

Minister Helez thanked Ambassador Reinertsen for every kind of help, and especially for the contribution that the NATO contact embassy makes to projects of public diplomacy and the engagement of all segments of civil society in creating support for the NATO integration process.

Minister Helez and Ambassador Reinertsen are of the same opinion that it is very important to intensify activities on the implementation of all cooperation projects with the Alliance, primarily due to events in Europe and beyond.

Due to the insufficient allocation of financial resources for the defense sector, the need for further support and assistance from partner countries was emphasized.

– The approved NATO aid package for strengthening the defense and security capacities of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which includes nine aid projects for the defense system and three aid projects for the BiH security system, is extremely important for equipping the Armed Forces of BiH and improving their operational capabilities. I am especially grateful to the NATO member countries for that and other types of assistance – said Minister Helez.

At the end of the meeting, the interlocutors expressed mutual interest in continuing future cooperation for the benefit of all citizens in Bosnia and Herzegovina, announced the Public Relations Office of the Ministry of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
