Federal Minister of Police Aljosa Campara reacted to the new secessionist announcements of Republika Srpska (RS) President Milorad Dodik by saying that security forces in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), but also international factors are ready to respond to any violation of the constitutional and legal system of our country.
“The Armed Forces of BiH (AFBiH), the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), the Directorate for the Coordination of Police Bodies of BiH, the Federal Police Administration, the police administrations of the cantonal ministries of internal affairs, EUFOR and NATO have sufficient capacity to thwart any attempts to attack the territorial integrity and sovereignty of BiH,” Campara stated.
Moreover, he said that he hopes that Milorad Dodik is aware that no one will hesitate to use all security capacities if he goes down the path of disturbing the peace, because any attempt at secession inevitably leads to war.
Campara is convinced that there will be no disturbance of peace in BiH.
“Such unilateral moves would cause the greatest damage to the members of the Serbian people in BiH because this is not the year 1992 when Bosniaks only had a heart and love for their homeland. I am convinced that there will be no disturbance of peace in BiH, and I call on the leaders of the political parties to direct their energy toward strengthening the economy and improving the lives of the citizens of BiH instead of raising national tensions and bringing unrest among the peoples of BiH,” he added.
Furthermore, he also called on the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, to clearly distance himself from the statements of the President of the BiH entity RS Milorad Dodik.
“Vucic, we know what happens when ‘the Serb gets fed up’. You constantly get ‘fed up’ by something. We know what that means, because the last time you thought that ‘the Serb got fed up’, genocide was committed against Bosniaks. It is scary to think that someone, especially the president of a country that aspires to the European Union (EU), is sending messages that could be perceived as a threat of new crimes. So, to build a state for a better tomorrow for all of us, to build good neighborly relations, let that be our imperative. Otherwise, let it be clear to you, never again will a Bosniak be unprepared,” Campara concluded, Klix.ba reports.
