BiH Officials demand increased Traffic Controls

After the tragic traffic accident in Sarajevo, in which a young doctor was killed, representatives of the Ministries of Internal Affairs (MIA) of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Sarajevo Canton, as well as the Federal Police Administration (FPA) and the Police Administration of the Interior Ministry of the CS, announced that they would request the drafting of the new Law on the Basics of Traffic Safety on Roads in Bosnia and Herzegovina has been started under an urgent procedure.

Special focus, as announced, will be placed on preventive action on the territory of the entire Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in cooperation with the cantonal ministries of interior affairs.

This was decided after a meeting between Federal Minister of the Interior Ramo Isak, CS Interior Minister Admir Katica, FPA Director Vahidin Munjić and Deputy Police Commissioner of the KS MIA Police Directorate Fatmir Hajdarević.

Also, at the meeting, it was concluded that Isak and Munjić, in accordance with the competences of the Federal Ministry of the Interior, will ask all the police administrations of the cantonal ministries of the interior to coordinate and permanently strengthen traffic controls, and that the police forces of the Federal police administration.

Isak, Katica, Munjić and Hajdarević expressed their sincere condolences to the family of the tragically killed young woman.

Let us remind you that one girl was killed and two were seriously injured in a traffic accident that happened in the center of Sarajevo. One person was arrested.

The traffic accident happened last night around 11.30 pm in Marijin Dvor, when a car hit three pedestrians.
