During the meeting with Director-General for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Christian Danielsson here on Wednesday, Bosnia and Herzegovina’s (BiH’s) Prime Minister Denis Zvizdic said that the country is fully committed to European integration.

At the meeting, which was also attended by Thomas Mayr-Harting, a Managing Director for Europe and Central Asia in the European External Action Service, Zvizdic said that BiH is fully committed to further strengthening the rule of law at all levels, as well as to the overall reform processes that leads to the EU membership, press statement reads.

He noted that BiH is committed to accelerating the integration process, that the process of preparing answers to the additional questions of the European Commission (EC) is in the final stage, and that responses should be submitted to EC by the end of February.

“On the list of our priorities is the issue of stability and security. This is the basis for political, social and economic progress, and the fact is that both European and NATO integration are based on the rule of law and respect for the law,” said Zvizdic.

Zvizdic stressed the importance of EU support in the amount of 9.2 million euros in managing migration flows in BiH and said that BiH is attached to a common European policy towards migrants.

On Feb.28, 2018, the former Chairman of BiH’s Presidency Dragan Covic and PM Denis Zvizdic have officially handed the answered EU accession questionnaire to European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker, after which the EC sent additional 655 questions.

On Feb. 15, 2016, country formally submitted its application to join the EU, which was accepted on Sept. 20, 2016.
