Germany will take over the care and treatment of police officers from BiH who are currently in the Peace Mission of the United Nations in Liberia (UNMIL) in case of infection from Ebola virus,” said today in a statement to FENA Secretary of the Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bakir Dautbašić.
Dautbašić stressed that the mission currently has some ten police officers, but the number varies from week to week because some are ending their mission while others are arriving.
He stressed that the police officers are well and healthy, and that their health status is monitored on a daily basis.
“We are happy with the fact that Germany, as a friendly country, has offered its prestigious medical institutions in the event that any of the members of the BiH contingent is diagnosed with Ebola because Germany has all the necessary facilities and conditions for the treatment of such patients,” said Dautbašić.
The institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the end of last week received a letter from the UN stating that Germany has decided to help the citizens of BiH who perform duties under the United Nations.
