The member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denis Bećirović, discussed with the ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Yasser Abdelrahman Ali Sorour, about the improvement of cooperation between the two countries and the current situation in the Middle East.

Ambassador Ali Sorour thanked Bećirović for concrete steps aimed at intensifying interstate relations, especially in the last year.

This is evidenced, as he emphasized, by Bećirović’s recent long and friendly conversation with the President of Egypt, Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.

During the meeting, they discussed further steps to improve cooperation between BiH and Egypt, as well as the current situation in the Middle East.

It was emphasized that it is necessary to urgently stop the violence and the killing of innocent civilians in Gaza.

Bećirović once again strongly condemned the attacks on civilians and the bombing in which children and women are mostly killed, stating that the achievement of a just peace and the establishment of two states – Israel and Palestine – is the only long-term solution.

Ambassador Ali Sorour particularly emphasized the importance of humanitarian activities from BiH with the aim of providing aid to Gaza.

During the conversation, Bećirović expressed his gratitude for Egypt’s principled respect for the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

It was pointed out that relations between BiH and Egypt are based on traditional friendship, with mutual interest in further development of cooperation in all areas of common interest.

Bećirović also recalled the conversation with the President of Egypt el-Sisi, during which it was stated that the two countries have good bilateral cooperation and that there is a possibility that the cooperation will be significantly improved in the fields of economy, defense, education, culture and tourism, the BiH Presidency announced.
