The Supreme Court of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) has upheld the first-instance verdict of the Cantonal Court in Sarajevo, which sentenced Mirza Duran (29) to 43 years in prison for the brutal murder of Nadira Sahačić in the Sarajevo neighborhood of Ciglane.
The verdict of the Criminal Division of the Supreme Court of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina dated April 6, 2026, rejected the appeals of the defense attorney of the accused Mirza Duran and the attorneys of the injured parties.
The horrific crime occurred in August 2024.
According to the indictment, Duran entered Nadira Sahačić’s apartment on Husrefa Redžića Street on the night of August 18-19.
“He inflicted multiple injuries on the victim, and then, using two knives, inflicted multiple blows on the victim, causing numerous stab and cut wounds that led to her death,” the indictment states.
Recall that the now convicted Mirza Duran was found guilty by a first-instance verdict, and after the Supreme Court of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina rejected the appeals against that verdict, it became final.
