On June 2, the Federal Sanitary Inspection at the Orašje border crossing prohibited the import of a shipment of potatoes for industrial processing from Poland, the Federal Administration for Inspection Affairs announced.

The press release states that during the regular inspection of the cross-border movement of goods, samples of products whose laboratory testing (analysis and superanalysis) were found to contain an illegal amount of the pesticide “Imazalil”, which is contrary to the Rulebook on the Maximum Level of Pesticide Residues in and on Food and feed for animals of plant and animal origin

In accordance with the Law on Food (“Official Gazette of Bosnia and Herzegovina”, number: 50/04) and the Law on the Healthiness of Foodstuffs and Items of General Use (“Official Gazette of Bosnia and Herzegovina”, number: 2/92 and 13/94) the import of a controlled shipment total quantity of 22,000 kg is prohibited, and it is ordered to be returned to the sender, i.e. destroyed in the prescribed manner in the event that return is not possible.
