In Bosnia and Herzegovina in August this year, tourists achieved 256,973 arrivals, which is nine percent more compared to July 2026 and 3.8 percent more compared to August 2025.
Tourists spent 560,221 overnight stays in August this year, which is 9.7 percent more compared to July 2026 and 4.5 percent more compared to August 2025. In the structure of total overnight stays, the share of domestic tourists was 26.8 percent, while the share of foreign tourists was 73.2 percent.
The number of overnight stays by domestic tourists in August 2026 is 12.9 percent higher than in July 2026 and 12.8 percent higher than in August 2025.
The number of overnight stays by foreign tourists increased by 8.5 percent compared to July 2026 and by 1.8 percent compared to August 2025, according to data from the BiH Statistics Agency.
In the structure of overnight stays by foreign tourists, the most overnight stays were made by tourists from: Turkey, with a participation of 9.5 percent, followed by Saudi Arabia with nine percent, Croatia with 8.7 percent, Serbia with 8.5 percent, Germany with 5.6 percent, Israel with 5.5 percent and Slovenia with 3.8 percent. These countries account for 50.6 percent of the total number of overnight stays by foreign tourists, while the remaining 49.4 percent of overnight stays are made by tourists from other countries.
In August 2026, 21,907 rooms, apartments and camping sites were available to tourists in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with an available capacity of 49,795 beds.
Compared to August 2025, the number of rooms, apartments and places for camping was lower by 0.8 percent, and the number of beds by 0.6 percent.
