Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH, Mirko Sarovic, will engage in urgent consultations with relevant institutions on the following days and initiate the necessary procedures to the BiH Council of Ministers to ban the export of forestry assortments from Bosnia and Herzegovina for a period of two years.

Also, Sarovic will speak about the introduction of a tax on exports of sawn timber of beech and oak, all in order to protect the domestic producers.

“These measures are unique for both entities in order to fully reduce the export of wood raw materials and enable the smooth development of the furniture industry in BiH,” Sarovic said.

The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH has previously received from the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management of RS and from the Federal Ministry of Agriculture the initiative on ban on the export of wood sorting, News Agency Patria reports.
