BiH visited by more Tourists in December 2016 than in December 2015?

touristsBiH was visited by 73,181 tourists in December last year, which is more by 17.8 % in comparison to the same month in 2015, and over 10 % more compared to November 2016.

They achieved 137,967 overnight stays, which is 21 % more compared to the last month of 2015, and over 4 % more compared to November 2016, according to data of the Agency for Statistics of BiH.

In the total number of overnight stays, the share of domestic tourists was 43.6 % and foreign 56.4 %.

Number of overnight stays of domestic tourists in December last year was increased by 12.8 % in comparison to the same month of 2015, and it was increased by 13.3 % when compared to November 2016, while the number of overnight stays of foreign tourists increased by 28.2 % in comparison to December 2015, but decreased by 2.2 % in comparison to November last year.

Within the structure of overnight stays of foreign tourists in December last year, most overnight stays were realized by tourists from Croatia (21.7 %), followed by tourists from Serbia (13.2 %), Slovenia (10.2 %), Italy (4.9 %), Germany (3.9 %) and Turkey (3.8 %), while tourists from other countries realized a total of 42.3 % of overnight stays.

When it comes to the length of stay of foreign tourists in BiH, in the first place are tourists from the Netherlands with an average stay of 5.4 nights, followed by tourists from Kuwait with 4.2 night, Portugal and South Africa with 3.3 per night, and Israel and Denmark by 3.2 nights.

For tourists in BiH in December last year was available a total of 16,761 rooms, an apartment and a place for camping, which is more by 15.2 % in comparison to December 2015, as well as 35,252 available beds, which is more by 16.9 % in comparison to the same month of 2015.

The net utilization rate of permanent beds in December last year amounted to 13.3 %.
