Bosnia and Herzegovina will host the World Taekwondo Championship for cadets in the period from August 28 to 31. More than 1,000 competitors from 76 countries are coming to the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina to fight for medals in the Olympic Taekwondo sport.
This is the second major competition organized by the Taekwondo Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina after the “European multi games” competition was held in May this year, and after the World Championship, the Bosnia and Herzegovina G1 Open tournament will be held.
Chairman of the Presidency of Taekwondo Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Samir Šarić, expressed his satisfaction with the preparations for the organization of this extremely demanding competition, which is a confirmation of the great work and trust that the federation enjoys from the leaders of the World Taekwondo Federation, announced the Taekwondo Federation of BiH.
“I must point out that we are satisfied despite all the challenges we had in the preparations for this competition. Bringing any kind of world-class competition to our country is demanding, and when we talk about the Olympic sport of taekwondo, which is also the sport in which we have the best result in the history of the Olympic Games, we see how big a deal it really is. The fact that Bosnia and Herzegovina was given the opportunity to host this competition in front of Cancun, Mexico, which is a prestigious tourist destination, speaks of the trust that the World Taekwondo Federation has in the work of our association,” pointed out Šarić.
The taekwondo federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina is famous as one of the most organized in the whole country, and behind everything is the organizational part in front of the Olympic taekwondo sport, headed by Šarić.
“We must be aware of the fact that sport is the best ambassador of the state. We constantly go around the world and lobby for the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the organization of major competitions. Because of this competition, over 1,000 guests from 76 countries arrive in Sarajevo. Many of them in no other way than through sports, they wouldn’t even have heard of us. And after such events, most of them carry beautiful memories and later return to our country as tourists. That is the strength of sports and the strength of the Taekwondo Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” said Šarić categorically.
Bosnia and Herzegovina will be represented at this competition by 16 competitors, and good results in the past give us the right to hope for new medals. The competition will be held in the Hills Hotel Arena, and entry is free of charge, Fena reports.
