Bijambare turns into a Sports Recreational Zone?

bijambare2Government of Sarajevo Canton adopted document “Spatial Analysis of Military Complex Zamo Ducic” and tasked the Planning Institute of Sarajevo Canton to make urban project of this area in the next 12 months.

The construction of education and recreation content Eco-Camp is proposed on 2.7 hectares, and the space of the former heliport and military training ground of 4.91 hectares will include sports and recreational zone, all in accordance with the Spatial plan of areas with special features of Protected landscape “Bijambare “.

One of the most attractive project ideas within the project “EU technical assistance for support the tourism industry in BiH – EU tourism” was planning and conversion of the military barracks at Bijambare.

After performed analysis and arrangements that Prosecution Office gets involved in the process of legalization of facilities which will be carried out by the Municipality Ilijas, it was proposed to maintain two barracks, join them and reconstruct with additional construction, and that the remaining three objects are removed and reclamation of terrain is performed in order to create conditions for the establishment of Eco Camp.

Funds for the project documentation in the amount of 43.900 BAM were provided in the budget of the Sarajevo Canton for the year 2016, on the position of the Ministry of Physical Planning, Construction and Environmental Protection of Sarajevo Canton. With its previous decisions on granting the use of real estate, over which the right of management and use was former Ministry of Defense of FBiH, Government of FBiH gave complex of barracks “Zamo Ducic” on use for free to the Government of Sarajevo Canton or the relevant ministry.

Government of the Canton accepted the initiative of the Government of Bosnian – Podrinje Canton Gorazde to continue with activities on the road connecting of Sarajevo and Gorazde by co-financing of project documentation in the amount of 1 million BAM.

The Ministry of Transport of CS – i.e. Directorate of Roads will provide a financial contribution of Canton in the preparation of project documentation for the main road Gorazde – Hrenovica in total amount of 500,000 BAM. As highlighted, the significance of the project is multiple, development of Gorazde Canton and its municipalities increases greater possibilities of using development resources, connects the two economic entities, and creates better quality road connection of BiH with its neighboring countries.
