The Cantonal Public Utility (KJP) ”ZOI‘84” and the Olympic Center Bjelasnica and Igman are ready for the upcoming winter season, as it was confirmed by KJP ”ZOI’84”.

”All the conditions for the best skiing season have already been met. The capacity of the ski resort has been significantly increased compared to previous seasons, primarily in terms of expanding the artificial snowmaking system, and certainly also by installing new ski lifts and cable cars. The works on the expansion of the trails and the construction of new connecting trails are almost finished, and we are sure that all skiers and boarders will experience Bjelasnica and Igman in a completely new light, as befits the Olympic mountains,” said the head of the marketing and sales department of KJP ”ZOI‘84” Aldin Smajkan.

He emphasized that numerous improvements have been made in the sales process itself, and users will not have to wait in lines for a ski pass this year but will be able to top up their ski pass online and come directly to the ski slopes.

”The first announced tourist groups usually arrive before the New Year and at the beginning of January. The ski resort starts working with the first adequate weather conditions, so we expect to open already in the first half of December or even earlier,”Smajkan said.

Moreover, Smajkan added that the company is still trying to ensure that, due to the overall economic situation, service price increases are not too high.

Smajkan also officially confirmed that the 53rd European Forestry Competition in Nordic sports will be held this year at Veliko polje on Igman. The competition will be held from February 5th to 11th, 2023.

”After several years of attempts, we also received approval from the FIS (International Ski Federation) to hold the Europa Cup on February 12th and 13th on Bjelasnica, and this is something that separates the upcoming season from all the previous ones,”Smajkan stated.

In the end, he said that this competition is being held in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) for the first time after more than 35 years.
