The Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Ministry of Environment and Tourism announced that Bosnia and Herzegovina created by the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC), after adopting their COVID-19 guide and protocol, in which the steps and actions during the pandemic in the tourism industry are elaborated in detail.

The statement said that the country is facing a difficult situation in terms of the increase in the number of people suffering from COVID-19 and the difficult economic situation for all entities in tourism, as well as other countries that are in a similar situation.

Since this sector records a significant percentage of the workforce, it is necessary to protect all tourism workers and their families, as well as domestic and international tourists, and this is achieved by adopting the recommendations of a world organization that is a leader in tourism.

It was pointed out that by obtaining the international label #SafeTravels, BiH shows the determination to position itself on the international market and follow world tourist trends. This is the first but crucial step in achieving the recovery of the tourism industry and restoring confidence in international travelers in the tourism sector.

The FBiH Ministry of Environment and Tourism thanked the USAID Tourism Project for its assistance to the entity governments, the Brčko District of BiH, and the BiH Council of Ministers in drafting, developing, and adopting the necessary protocols to obtain the label, is stated by the Press Service of the FBiH Government.
