Bosnia taught me that one can sing even when everything is destroyed

yusuf islamThe legendary British musician and philanthropist Yusuf, formerly known as Yusuf Islam or Cat Stevens, mentioned Bosnia and Herzegovina on his Twitter profile in a very positive sense.

The famous singer and musician who plays several instruments wrote: “While much of the world is turning into ruins, I learnt from Bosnia when everything is destroyed you can still sing”. In addition to this, he published his earlier message: “If you want to sing out, sing out. If you want to be free, be free”.

Yusuf sang in Sarajevo in 1997 at a charity concert, and he recently recorded an instrumental in memory of the victims of the genocide in Sarajevo.

“Words are not needed here; the music writes the real story. Everyone who saw and heard something about Srebrenica, must do something,” Yusuf Islam said on that occasion.
