Bosniak Party Leader comments the Government Formation in BiH

President of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) Bakir Izetbegović said today in Sarajevo that the last general elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina confirmed that the pro-Bosnian political bloc, i.e. those political forces that in their program principles place interests of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, represents the dominant political structure.

“On the other hand, irrational mutual conflicts and divisions within that block of parties, mainly caused by particular interests limited to the distribution of positions in government structures, but also by the actions of a part of the international community that deviates from its own principles and favors nationalist forces, once again represent the main obstacle for realization of the full potential of that political bloc,” said Izetbegović before the session of Circle 99, which he introduced on the topic “The necessity of a political alliance of the state-forming forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the process of government formation”

According to him, the pro-Bosnian parties that are represented in the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina received the trust of almost 700,000 voters and the elected representatives of these parties make up 60 percent of the House of Representatives. Out of a total of 42 representatives, 25 of them belong to this political bloc.

He says that the development of events after the General Elections and the narrative that is presented to the public indicate a tendency to continue such destructive practices.

Izetbegović emphasized that the pro-Bosnian parties, as a single political bloc with clearly defined red lines, principles, attitudes and guidelines of action, have the capacity not only to deprive themselves of the cited humiliating approach, but to assume the main role in leading key processes, and to gradually overcome destructive political forces and stop negative trends.

“Therefore, it is unquestionable that the formation of a strong patriotic bloc has no alternative and should be the priority of the political activity of all subjects who consider themselves state-building, completely subordinating to this particular party interests, mutual ideological differences, and personal disagreements and ambitions. Any different approach is not only irresponsible towards Bosnia and Herzegovina, but directly opens up space for those forces that oppose the interests of the state and its citizens,” said Izetbegović at the press conference before the start of the Circle 99 session, Fena reported.
