KienerFountain-St.LouisThe last research conducted by the University of Kentuckyj showed that Bosnian language is the sixth most used language in the US city of St.Louis. About 70.000 B&H people live in this city with a total population of 300.000 inhabitants.

After the English language, Spanish is the most spoken on the streets of St. Louis, followed by Vietnamese, Arabic, Korean and Bosnian in sixth place.

St. Louis is famous as a city with many immigrant communities, which are every day becoming increasing.

According to professor Susan Hume, the B&H community in this city is the biggest community of B&H people outside of B&H. In her study “Migration of B&H people in St. Louis and their impact on the local culture”, she emphasized that B&H people started to come to St. Louis in 1993 after the start of the war in B&H.

They have now their own neighborhood in this city, and many of them own restaurants and travel agencies. Hume pointed out the highest circulated newspaper in USA in Bosnian language is Sabah, which is printed in this city.
