srebrenicaParents of Bosniak children from Srebrenica decided not to send their children to school, considering the term “language of Bosniak nation” which is listed in their report cards discriminating.

Information about the boycott of school was confirmed by parents of the children and the Director of the First Primary School Srebrenica Dragi Jovanović.

Meetings of parents are currently being held because of this issue, and their next steps will be announced in the afternoon hours.

Authorities in the RS dispute the teaching of Bosnian language in schools at the territory of RS and instead of “Bosnian language” the “language of Bosniak nation” is listed in children’s report cards. Bosniaks strongly oppose this.

The Constitutional Court of BiH recently reached a decision which says that Bosniak nation has the right to name the language they speak as they want.
