The President of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH), Lidija Bradara, yesterday received the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to BiH, Alfred Grannas, on an inaugural visit, and the focus of the talks was on the European path, political stability, and economic cooperation.
Grannas emphasized that Germany sees BiH as a future member of the European Union (EU) and that it will continue to be a strong partner in the process of European integration.
He underlined the importance of the FBiH for the functioning of the state, noting that “in the Federation, that is, in the entities, real life and everyday politics take place,” and that the stability of the institutions of the FBiH is crucial both for the economy and for attracting investments.
Bradara informed the ambassador about the priorities of the FBiH, which are the preservation of the constitutional order, balanced development, and dialogue among partners in government.
“The FBiH remains firmly oriented toward stability, cooperation, and the European path; these are our common goals,” said President Bradara, adding that peace and the functionality of the FBiH, as well as of the entire BiH, are the foundation for further economic and social progress.
They also discussed challenges related to state property and the creation of more favorable conditions for investments.
Bradara mentioned examples of local communities in the FBiH that are recording strong development and are ready for new investments, while Grannas stated that Germany supports reform processes that will bring greater legal certainty and predictability to the business environment.
In the part of the talks concerning European integration, it was emphasized that the opening of negotiations with the EU is important for strengthening domestic institutions. Grannas expressed his conviction that entering the negotiation process will bring new momentum to reforms and prevent political blockades that hinder BiH’s progress.
The meeting concluded with a message of mutual readiness to continue the partnership cooperation between the two countries in strengthening stability, economic development, and BiH’s European path, as stated in the announcement from the Office of the President of the FBiH.
