December 1 is the World AIDS Day, and for several years now the institutions of B&H have been marking this day by lighting lights in shape of a ribbon – the symbol of fight against AIDS.
The World AIDS day is being marked throughout the world since 1998. Although a lot has been done on the suppression of this disease since then, people are still dying.
Since 1986, when the first case of HIV was recorded in B&H, until September this year 287 HIV positive persons have been recorded in B&H, of which 125 persons developed AIDS.
Nearly 37 million EUR have been invested in the fight against AIDS and tuberculosis in B&H since 2006.
