A large fire broke out at the “Arizona” market in Brčko last night, completely destroying a business building measuring approximately 15 by 50 meters – this was confirmed by the Professional Fire Department of the Brčko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina. According to initial information, the fire engulfed a hall containing textiles – jackets, fabrics and other clothing, and the fire quickly spread to the entire building. Firefighters were immediately dispatched to the scene and, with the help of several vehicles and personnel, managed to localize the fire around midnight.

“There were several firefighter teams on the scene, and the extinguishing operation lasted several hours. Today, our members are still present to prevent the possibility of a re-breakout of the fire due to remaining hot spots and sparks,” the Professional Fire Department announced.

According to information so far, no one was injured in the fire, but the material damage is enormous. The exact cause of the fire has not yet been determined, and the investigation into the incident is being conducted by the Brčko District Police of BiH.

As a reminder, the Arizona Market is one of the largest shopping areas in this area, with numerous facilities that often store flammable goods, which increases the risk of fire spreading in the event of an incident.
