Representatives of the Initiative for Bjelasnica and Igman Mountains held a working meeting on Thursday with the Prime Minister of Canton Sarajevo Edin Forto, the Minister of Economy of Canton Sarajevo Haris Basic and the Director of JP ZOI84 Kenan Magoda at the premises of the Government of the Canton of Sarajevo.

The meeting discussed proposals for concrete steps for the work of Public Enterprise ZOI84, which were previously submitted to management by the representatives of the Initiative, and which are planned to be implemented in the Olympic Mountains in the coming period with funding from the Canton Sarajevo Government.

The Canton Sarajevo government plans to invest 3.5 million BAM to improve conditions at Bjelasnica and Igman Mountains.

Some of the activities proposed by the Bjelasnica and Igman Initiative, supported by the CS Government, are the construction of a snow system on the Gornja Kolijevka trail, the construction of a new ski slope and the extension of the existing technological route, the construction of lighting on the Kolijevka trail.

“We believe that these works will improve skiing conditions and that the season will be extended to 120 days of skiing,” said representatives of the Bjelasnica and Igman Initiatives, adding that they will continue to be available for any help and advice they can provide.

The initiative for Bjelasnica and Igman is made up of a group of citizens who aim to promote the beauty and potential that these mountains offer, and in particular to improve the quality of the Bjelasnica and Igman ski centers.
