This year, despite the pandemic and in accordance with valid epidemiological measures, Capljina will host the oldest and most numerous carnival event in BiH in the period from February 20 to March 1, bringing entertainment for all generations in the south of our country.
The organizers from HKUD “Seljacka sloga” Trebizat point out that the carnival event, which is being held for the 58th time, is the oldest carnival event in our country and a tradition that they faithfully keep, Klix.ba writes.
“We are aware that the event will be accompanied by the watchful eye of SIP, federal, domestic on-duty observers and Malina headquarters, we are determined not to give up tradition and take power in our city according to the omicron model,” said the organizers of the event.
The event starts with small masquerades on Sunday, February 20, when the youngest ones will show their creativity and bring a breath of joy and carefree under masks in that city, while a gathering of big masquerades has been announced for February 27.
The finale of the carnival will be on Tuesday, March 1, when the organizers will announce the best masquerades and award prizes to the most creative participants in the event.
Carnival typically involves public celebrations, including events such as parades, public street parties and other entertainments, combining some elements of a circus. Elaborate costumes and masks allow people to set aside their everyday individuality and experience a heightened sense of social unity.
