fr julijan eidNumerous believers who prayed the Eid prayer in Sarena (Colorful) mosque in Travnik were quite surprised after a priest joined them in the mosque.

This is the first time after the war that a Catholic priest joined the reception on the occasion of the greatest Muslim holiday. He is Fr. Julijan Madzar, and he decided to visit the central Eid program that was held in Travnik.

“There was no option for me not to go. My mission is to share the message of peace and coexistence. To welcome Eid with my fellow citizens is the very least I can do,” said Fr. Julijan.

“In the spirit of the 26th anniversary of the apparition of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Medjugorje, in the spirit of peace and love, the Eid in Travnik was welcomed as well,” noted Fr. Madzar.

“The believers were quite surprised when I came, but that is normal, no one visited them for 20 years, no one shared their joy. After the initial shock, they welcomed me in such a beautiful way. I am very happy for the opportunity to share the joy of holidays together. It is important that we are here for each other, always,” concluded Fr. Julijan.
