CEC decides on the Date of Elections in Areas hit by the Floods

Local elections in Fojnica, Kiseljak, Konjic and Kreševo, which were postponed due to devastating floods and landslides in those municipalities, are scheduled for Sunday, October 20.

The Central Electoral Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina today passed the Decision on calling and holding Local Elections in 2024 in the mentioned constituencies, while nothing has been announced yet for Jablanica, which is the most severely affected.

Previously, the members of the Central Election Commission of BiH visited the mentioned four municipalities and held meetings with the municipal election commissions, and it was jointly assessed that Sunday, October 20, 2024. suitable date for holding elections.

Let us remind you that the local elections in most of BiH were held on October 6, while they were postponed for the flooded areas.

At least 22 people died in the devastating floods and landslides that hit these municipalities, while the search for the missing is still ongoing.

In addition to human casualties, the floods caused enormous material damage.
