The central Bijambara Cave and the tourist train are open to visitors, was confirmed from the Public Institution Protected Natural Areas of Sarajevo Canton to Fena.
“Entrance time in the cave is at 11:00, 13:00 and 15:00 o’clock, and on weekends at 11:00, 12:00, 13:00, 14:00, 15:00 and 16:00 o’clock. The first departure of a tourist train on working days is at 10.30, and the last departure at 17.00 o’clock. On weekends is the first departure at 10:00 and the last departure at 17:00 o’clock,” expert advisor for promotion and marketing JU Protected Natural Areas of Canton Sarajevo Mustafa Zvizdic said.
Visitors can see the area by driving a two-way tourist train.
In addition to visiting the cave, during their stay in the protected area of Bijambare, visitors can enjoy walking through nature, use benches and tables, visit the necropolis of the marble Stecak tombstone or use a large multifunctional playground.
The Bijambare is a protected area of 497 hectares and located near the road Sarajevo – Tuzla in the municipality of Ilijaš. Bijambare is 40 kilometers away from the center of Sarajevo.
This protected area is at an average altitude of 950 meters and is rich in beautiful streams and lakes.
There are eight caves in the area, and the biggest attraction is the Central Bijambarska Cave, which is rich in cave jewelery, and its length is about 500 meters and is open to visitors.
