The Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) Denis Zvizdic held the meeting yesterday with the Undersecretary of the Foreign Office of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Simon McDonald. At the meeting, Zvizdic thanked him for the significant friendly support that the United Kingdom gives BiH in the process of EU and NATO integration.

Both interlocutors agreed that the bilateral relations between the two countries are good and without major open issues. Undersecretary McDonald said that the United Kingdom supports reform processes in BiH and said that he hopes BiH to obtain the status of a candidate country for membership in the European Union.

The interlocutors agreed that the economic relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the United Kingdom are modest at best, but that there is a significant potential for improvement.

For his part, Zvizdic expressed the belief that after leaving the European Union, the United Kingdom will continue to support the reform processes in BiH on the path to the European Union.

They agreed that the integration of the entire Western Balkans is crucial, both for political and economic stability, and for the security of the entire Europe.
