The Chairman of the BiH Council of Ministers Vjekoslav Bevanda organized yesterday in Sarajevo a working lunch for ambassadors in BiH.

During the meeting Bevanda expressed his satisfaction that he had the opportunity to be a host to the ambassadors, and thanked them for their individual contributions and support to BiH for their path to the EU.

When asked by the Ambassador of Slovenia Andreja Grasselli to comment on the priorities of BiH towards the path to the EU and realizing the conditions for the Road Map, Chairman Bevanda briefed all those present on the overall implementation of the goals. He stressed that he was extremely pleased that 24 priorities have been realized, but that he was also disappointed that there are 2 that still have not been implemented.

He expressed hope that they would soon be able to present to EU Commissioner for Enlargement Füle a united stance on all points.

The Ambassador of Switzerland to BiH Andre Schaller and the Ambassador of Romania Filip Teodorescu raised questions on the plans for the next period, as well as regional cooperation and preparations for Croatia’s forthcoming accession to the EU.

Bevanda said that BiH is a country with the lowest rate of the utilization of energy potential and that the goal of BiH in the next period is to obtain a unique energy strategy.

“Public works and the intensification of activities for Corridor 5-C, as well as the Adriatic-Ionic highway are the priorities that we will strenuously work on in the next period. If we take into account that Croatia will enter the EU on 1 July 2013 and is leaving the CEFTA system, there is already a huge interest for the production capacity from Croatia to transfer to BiH. There we see an opportunity for our economy’’, said Bevanda during the meeting.

He emphasized the extremely open and quality communication at a regional level.

During the meeting, the Ambassador of Brazil to BiH Jose Augusto Lindgren Alves handed a note to Chairman Bevanda on the abolition of visas for BiH citizens who are travelling to this country.
