Chairman of the BiH Presidency, Denis Bećirović, spoke with the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to BiH, Abuzar Ebrahimi Torkaman.
During the meeting, Bećirović pointed out the facts related to the proposed resolution on Srebrenica in the UN General Assembly, as well as the importance of promoting the truth about the genocide committed in and around Srebrenica.
He stressed the importance of the UN General Assembly adopting a resolution on July 11 as an international day of remembrance and commemoration of the genocide in Srebrenica committed in 1995.
Bećirović emphasized the importance of the OIC Resolution adopted in 2011 at the 39th session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the OIC in Astana, which invited the members of this body to mark July 11 as the Day of Mourning. That call was additionally emphasized at the 48th regular session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the OIC in Islamabad in 2022, when the Resolution on Bosnia and Herzegovina was adopted.
“That’s why it is very important that all OIC countries vote for the resolution on Srebrenica and not support the anti-civilization policy of some leaders of the neighboring Republic of Serbia,” emphasized Bećirović.
Iranian Ambassador Abuzar Ebrahimi Torkaman said that Iran supports the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the coexistence of all nations.
Also, on this occasion, he condemned the genocide committed in Srebrenica in 1995.
Also, the Chairman of the BiH Presidency, Denis Bećirović, and the Ambassador of Iran to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Abuzar Ebrahimi Torkaman, stated that the relations between the two countries are traditionally good.
