The Chairperson of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Željka Cvijanović, spoke today in Washington, D.C., in separate meetings, with US Senators from the Republican Party, Marsha Blackburn and Bernie Moreno.

During friendly talks with the senators, Cvijanović expressed full support for the policies of the new US administration led by President Donald Trump, aimed at dialogue and peaceful resolution of conflicts in Europe and the world.

She stressed that this is fully in line with “the positions of the institutions of Republika Srpska, which are dedicated to preserving peace and stability in BiH and the region”.

In the context of the 30th anniversary of the signing of the Dayton Peace Agreement, Cvijanović pointed out the importance of full respect for this agreement and its annexes, as well as the constitutional positions of all constituent peoples and different levels of government in BiH.

She expressed her expectation that BiH would begin to live a democratic life, without “the dictates of unelected foreigners who impose laws and suspend constitutions”, as well as her hope that BiH would develop independently in the future, using its own democratic capacities.

Chairperson of the BiH Presidency Cvijanović welcomed President Trump’s announcement that the US would no longer participate in nation-building and interference in the internal affairs of other countries, the BiH Presidency announced.
