kulinbbanJozo Pavkovic, the director and editor in chief of Vecernji list BiH and director of Vecernjakov pecat said that the Charter of Ban Kulin will be temporarily returned to BiH, on the event that took place last night in Mostar.

At the opening ceremony of this year’s award of Vecernjakov pecat, Pavkovic said that many people were trying to draw the attention of the Russian Federation on where the Charter is based, hoping that it would be returned one day, but without any success.

“We finally got a positive response and it was ‘yes’. The Charter of Ban Kulin will be temporarily returned to BiH,” said Pavkovic.

Moreover, at the beginning of the manifestation, the Minister of Justice of BiH Josip Grubesa and a representative of the Embassy of the Russian Federation Alexej Semenihin, presented a certified copy of the Charter to the director of Vecernji List.

To recall, the original copy of the Charter is kept at the Russian Academy of Sciences and Arts in St. Petersburg.

The Charter of Ban Kulin was written on August 29, 1189, in the Bosnian language, on Bosancica. One-page document is not only the oldest Bosnian state document that was ever found, but it is also one of the oldest documents of South Slavic countries.
