China: We will correct the historical Injustice against Palestine

Beijing sent a message on Friday that it will continue to invest efforts to “thoroughly correct the historical injustice” against Palestine.

“The Palestinian issue is at the core of the Middle East problem, and China will continue to stand firmly with its Arab brothers, invest efforts to thoroughly correct the historical injustice, and restore lasting peace in the region as soon as possible,” said Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi during a meeting with his Saudi counterpart, Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, in South Africa, where they attended the G20 summit in Johannesburg on Thursday.

His statements come at a time when a ceasefire has been in effect in the Gaza Strip since last month, following Israel’s genocidal war, which has claimed at least 48.300 victims, mostly women and children, leaving the enclave in ruins.

The International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants in November for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Israel is also facing a genocide lawsuit before the International Court of Justice (ICJ) over the war in this enclave.

“Saudi Arabia opposes the forced expulsion of the Palestinian people in Gaza, highly values China’s consistency in adhering to principles and justice on the Palestinian-Israeli issue, and hopes and believes that China will continue to play an active role in establishing peace in the Middle East,” Faisal told Wang, according to a statement.

Wang praised Saudi Arabia’s “active mediation” on key issues and expressed satisfaction that Riyadh is playing a constructive role in regional peace and stability.
