Chinese Investors interested in Cooperation in Tourism and Sports

The Mayor of East Sarajevo, Nenad Vukovic, and the director of Tourist Organization of East Sarajevo, Igor Tosic, met with delegation from the PR China, which came to East Sarajevo with the intention to offer cooperation in the field of tourism and sports.

Chinese expressed special interest in tourist facilities on Jahorina Mountain and Sports Hall “Peki” on Pale, which could be used for preparations of Chinese basketball players.

Mayor of East Sarajevo, Nenad Vukovic, said that tourism represents strategic branch of economic development in East Sarajevo, and thus it deserves special attention.

“According to official data, the number of Chinese tourists in our region is increasing every year, and we believe that this is a signal that we should start creating appropriate tourist offer i.e. special tourist program for guests from China. We need to present ourselves better and we need to present all of our tourist potentials and facilities we have, because a greater number of tourist will enable the development of tourism, as well as our economy,” said Vukovic.

Director of Tourist Organization of East Sarajevo, Igor Tosic, said that East Sarajevo is among  the mostly visited cities in the RS, because the majority of important tourist potentials and contents is placed in this city.

“Tourism is recording an increase in our city when it comes to investments and expansion of our tourist offer. Last winter, we had guests from 54 countries,” said Tosic, and added that East Sarajevo is unique in the environment, considering the fact that it is surrounded by four mountains, and it is rich in natural heritage, springs and caves.

China representatives expressed their wish to sign an agreement on co-operation between their prefecture and the city of East Sarajevo in the field of tourism and sports soon.
