Gradually life in the area of Lukavac and Živinice near Tuzla is returning to normal. Citizens are trying to restore their homes after the water is withdrawn.
Due to the water presence in the production part of opencast mining Šikulje near Lukavac the situation is still difficult. Workers are still cleaning the opencast and they hope that it will be soon put into operation. Unfortunately, the damage is estimated at several tens of millions KM.
Settlements near the area of Živinice was in a very difficult situation last days. Spreča river , which had an unprecedented water levels , flooded into the housing and launched landslides .
Citizens who have been evacuated from their homes have returned and are trying to repair the damage. They engage in cleaning the ruined yards, carrying the furniture from flooded houses and cleaning road communication of silt and gravel.
Residents of the Roma settlement Koksara from Dubrave returned as well. During previous days they were evacuated but after the withdrawal of water they return to clean their homes.
