”City of Banja Luka – Children’s Friend”

On the occasion of the International Day of Children Rights, in the Administrative service of the City of Banja Luka, a constituent session of the Coordinating Committee for the implementation of the action ”Cities / Municipalities –  Friends of Children” was held yesterday. The action called ”Cities / Municipalities – Friends of Children” presents a set of activities with which the City of Banja Luka will join the UNICEF action, with the aim of receiving the honorary title of ”Children’s Friend”.

The Committee, headed by the Mayor of Banja Luka, Slobodan Gavranović, is entitled for the implementation of the action with the aim of improvement of rights and needs of children in the area of the City of Banja Luka. The project ” Cities/ Municipalities- Friends of Children” promotes the highest quality of life for all citizens of one city and presents the implementation process of the Convention of children’s rights on the local level of government.

The Coordination Committee is responsible for the preparation and the design of all activities of the project, one of them being the introduction of children in the decision making process.
