The City of Sarajevo will erect a memorial plaque to doctors Azra Spahić and Alma Suljić, who were killed by Armin Berberović at the pedestrian crossing on May 26 this year.

By a unanimous decision of the City Council of the City of Sarajevo today, it was decided that the memorial plaque will be located at Marijin Dvor, at the place where the girls were killed.

We remind you that it was established that Berberović was driving a car without a driver’s license, under the influence of alcohol and that he was driving over the limit.

At the pedestrian crossing, on that fateful night, at the intersection of Dolina and Maršala Tita streets, he hit three people. Azra Spahić died at the scene of the accident, and two people were transported to the hospital for assistance.

Alma Suljić succumbed to severe injuries almost a month after the accident.

Berberović admitted his guilt, and on June 26 it was decided that his detention would be extended for another two months.
